ALL LIGHT - DesignTO 2026

I’m thrilled to be participating in DesignTO again this year in a new exhibition called ALL LIGHT. It combines 15 Ontario based artists and designers of different disciplines and practices to create unique lighting objects. I created another paper sculptural, thanks to another collaboration with curator Kate Tessier (Kilowatt Kate). It should be a fun show, one that I’m very looking forward to.

The opening party for ALL LIGHT is Saturday, January 24 at Gallery 1065, 1065 Bloor St West, just east of Dufferin. If you can’t make the opening party, there will be a talk and lighting workshops. The exhibition runs for the duration of the festival, until February 1, 2026.

Bountiful Light, ECO-Art Expressions Exhibition

My work, Bountiful Life, is part of an upcoming exhibition, Eco-Art Expressions at Withrow Common Gallery. I’ll be joining 21 other artists of various disciplines who are all responding to local and global environmental concerns.

Opening night is a ticketed event on Friday, October 3, at 6:00 pm.

The exhibition is free to visit, including during Nuit Blanche (Saturday, October 4) and is open until Sunday, November 9.

Workshop

Print! Pin! Pouch! Workshop

I am co-teaching a workshop with my textile-making colleague, Olivia Mae Sinclair, called Pin! Print! Pouch! at Textile Studio Co-op, on February 1-2, 2025. This introductory course will cover screen printing and sewing fabric into a zippered pouch. Participants will have the opportunity to create a unique surface design and then use that new fabric to make a functional item. Sewing with a zipper is a straightforward process, and the step-by-step guidance will help you acquire a new skill and produce a useful bag.

OPENING: Mapping Out Calm at STACKT Market, DesignTO

On Saturday, January 25th, join me and the other artists featured in Design Collective launch party exhibition at STACKT Market. Design Collection is part of DesignTO Festival, the art and design festival that is celebrating 15 years.

My large-scale paper mural made with lake water and pulp, Mapping Out Calm, will be on view at STACKT Market. The work explores the impermanence of life through water. It’s a hand-stitched map made of lake water and pulp reveals Lake Ontario’s evolution and resilience, and our shared experience with transition and renewal.

The launch party is free. Hope to see you there!
